434-924-3476

Born and raised in Northern Ohio, Judy graduated with a BS in Accounting from Akron University and joined Diebold Incorporated as a junior financial analyst. Upon graduating with her MBA from John Carroll University, she sought a career and location change for her family. She joined General Electric in Wilmington North Carolina, then moved to  NBC – Universal/GE (Manhattan, NYC area), landing in Charlottesville in 2008 at GE Intelligent Platforms. She also worked locally for Klockner Pentaplast as controller of the North American HQ. Judy is also a Certified Management Accountant and Six Sigma Black Belt-certified.

Prior to joining UVa her career included multiple operational finance, controllership, systems implementation and process improvement roles in multiple industries (manufacturing, industrial, service, and media). Also notable is her experience in businesses organized as a joint venture, who are often subject to additional oversight and compliance.

Judy joined UVa at the end of 2013 as Director of the Managerial Reporting Project. Judy’s focus in supporting various stakeholders with insightful and accurate information, combined with her expertise in systems implementations and process improvement drew her to the University. She highlights collaborative partnerships as the key focus for her leadership of the project, recognizing how essential functional engagement is to deliver robust outcomes. Judy also places a high level of focus on talent management, as the team was resourced for the effort, seeking out and retaining adaptable, functionally-talented and collaborative team members.

She looks forward to the continued expansion of the available reporting and associated support to an increasing number of users.

Outside of work, Judy enjoys time spent with her husband (also a UVa employee), keeping up with her two teenage daughters and dog. She also loves tennis, running, volunteering at church and all things outdoors in our beautiful Charlottesville area.
