Before joining the University, Linda earned a double Bachelor's from Clarion University in Speech Communication and Theatre with a Minor in Psychology. Her career began as a counselor for troubled youth and chemically-addicted persons, though soon migrated to the corporate world as a Technical Instructor and Course Developer. Since that time, she has accumulated a breadth of professional experience in Training, performing a variety of roles including instructional design, course delivery, people, product and project management. With extensive experience in instructional design, Linda's expertise covers a variety of modalities such as leader-led, web-based/eLearning, self-study, computer-assisted, proficiency assessments and job aids. She is also the recipient of two Keystone Awards for process improvements in past roles.
As a Training Developer with Managerial Reporting, Linda's primary duties consist of delivering UBI training classes, developing UBI training materials to be used in class, self-study and eLearning. She manages training logistics such as scheduling classes and monitoring enrollments, and assists with the UBI Community and general communication with users. She feels rewarded when she meets with users and helps them transition to UBI - this is especially rewarding when she witnesses people getting excited about using UBI and how it will improve their work processes.
When she is away from the office, Linda sings (alto) with the Oratorio Society of Virginia, and enjoys the cultural arts in general: theater, music, dance, and films - especially the Virginia Film Festival. Health and wellness is her other passion - she likes working out, hiking, hanging out with her husband and their cats, and reading about wellness/nutrition. She also has a Certificate in Plant-based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nuturition and eCornesll, and earned a Nia® White Belt.
