Forrest Swope joined the UVA Managerial Reporting Project in January of 2015 in the role of Data Stewardship Lead. He has established a data governance structure, including a Data Strategy Committee and local area Data Stewards. Forrest also leads the Data Architecture team in their conceptual design and subsequent build of the integrated enterprise data warehouse.
Prior to arriving at UVA, Forrest served as the Senior Director for Platform Development at Silverchair, where he partnered with publishers of scholarly journals and books to develop online content delivery services, ranging from semantic enrichment and recommendation algoritms to the creation of mobile point-of-care tools for physicians. Before that, Forrest worked as a Product Director at PRA Health, where he analyzed the result of clinical trials and led the development, design, and deployment of a proprietary tool to forecast revenue and manage staffing for multi-year global clinical trials.
Outside of working with the MRP team, Forrest has traveled throughout Central and South America, played guitar in a band that opened for both Phish and Dave Matthews, climbed 3 pitches to the top of Seneca Rocks in West Virginia, and is currently approaching a longtime goal of becoming a Life Master in duplicate bridge. He lives with his wife, two teenage daughters, several cats, and a dog-like creature in the ever-growing metropolis of Charlottesville.
